New people are coming in, a new life is about to begin for you and them; So keep that in mind as you are cleaning out your old and preparing the new for someone else.

  1. Remove all nails from the walls and patch holes. Decorating your walls is one way to make a space your own, but before you move you’ll need to take out all the nails and repatch the holes up.
  1. Repaint. Most rentals use standardized paint colors in their units, so if you’ve changed the paint, now’s the time to repaint it back to the original color.
  2. Wipe down all doors. Doors are often full of food stains, pet hair, or dust, so maybe giving them a quick clean-up would be a good idea.
  3. Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors. Giving the floors a good clean can be a good idea since there may be lots of foot prints or hair.
  4. Take out the trash.
